Distance Education
The Teagasc Distance Education Green Cert Programme was developed to meet the training requirements of graduates from other non-agricultural award programmes who are interested in farming.

Trained Farmer Status
Students who successfully complete the degree programmes meet the educational requirements for Trained Farmer Status for the purpose of farm inheritance, grant aids and tax exemptions.
Note, students do not receive a ‘Green Cert’; their ATU degree parchment is accepted as it is deemed as meeting the educational requirements for Trained Farmer Status.
